About
I graduated Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” as a Medieval Archaeologist with a thesis devoted to Proto-Bulgarian archaeology. My research interests include as well the Early Slavs and Early Byzantine archeology, settlement structures and military organization in so culled “ Dark Age” between Roman (Late Roman) and Early Medieval periods. My main work is connected with the pottery production including Early Medieval, Late Roman and Roman ceramics in the area of modern Northwest Bulgaria (the eastern part of Moesia Supperior and later Dacia Ripensis). The last 10 years I took a part in many archaeological excavations at that region including Altimir “Bresta”, Roman fortress and sanctuary “Kaleto” near Mezdra, Early Roman military camp “Augusta”, Roman road station “Aniste” near Belogradchik etc. Recently I lead the archaeological excavation at Early Roman military camp and Late Roman settlement “Conbustica” near Kladorub and researches at the biggest archaeological site in Northwest Bulgaria – Colonia Ulpia Traiana Ratiaria.
