The aim of the article is to reveal and analyse the inaccuracies in two dictionaries of the Turkish loan-words in Bulgarian, whose author is Vessela Krasteva. The dictionaries try to trace the words etymologically by giving the respective word forms used in the contemporary Turkish language. The author of the article, being a specialist in the Turkish language, has found some discrepancies from the point of view of the forms and meanings of the Turkish words, from which the respective Bulgarian lexis originates. A dictionary is a reference book, which is why the information it gives must be as accurate as possible.

As a result of the 5 century long Ottoman rule over the Bulgarian territory Bulgarian language was strongly influenced by Turkish language. Through the mediation of Turkish many words of Turkic and non Turkic origin became part of the vocabulary of Bulgarian. From the point of view of their semantics these words can be divided into 13 semantic groups. Most of them are nouns; a very limited number of the words are adjectives or verbs.
Apart from their phonetic and morphological adaptation the loan words had changed semantically too. In this article three directions of semantic changes have been considered, i.e. narrowing of meaning, semantic shift, developing of additional meanings which are not present in the source language.

As in every language, there are many words of foreign origin in the Turkish language. Arabic and Persian loanwords are the most numerous. During the period of reformation known as Tanzimat (starting in 1839), words from Western European languages and especially French began to enter the Turkish language. After World War II, the impact of the English language on the world has grown, leading to a wider introduction of English words into the Turkish language. This phenomenon has intensified especially in recent years through the Internet and other mass media. Because of the differences in the phonetic systems in the two languages, the English words are subject to some phonetic changes in order to adapt to the phonetic system of the Turkish language and to respond to the articulation habits of the Turkish speakers.

This paper compares the phonetic systems of English and Turkish. The loanwords which contain sounds and syllable patterns not typical for the Turkish language are subject to phonetic changes which are shown in the paper.

За превода е изписано много, дори твърде много, особено когато става дума за теоретизиране на нещо, което по начало е напълно практическо занятие. Затова реших да покажа как на практика едно и също нещо може да изглежда напълно различно, ако е превеждано от различни хора. Преводът е нещо лично – колкото и да се отрича това, няма как да се отрече, че личността на преводача играе огромна роля в превода, който ще бъде получен накрая. Ако двама души превеждат един и същ текст, той няма да е на 100% еднакъв, дори и съдържанието и смисълът да са почти еднакви. Всъщност, дори и един и същи човек да преведе един текст с разстояние във времето, текстът никога няма да е на 100% еднакъв.

За тази цел избрах да разгледам един от най-известните текстове, превеждани някога от английски – монологът на Хамлет („да бъдеш или да не бъдеш?“) от едноименната пиеса на Шекспир и три негови варианта, създадени през последния век от различни преводачи, част от каймака на българската интелигенция.

От всички български храни, може би има една, която почти навсякъде по света върви ръка за ръка с Трибагреника. Няма място, където да е стъпил наш сънародник и да не са чували за нея. По някаква причина, в главите на повечето чужденци има мистична връзка между българската национална идентичност (и различността й от другите народи) и точно това ястие. Когато чужденец дойде в България, една от първите думи, които научава е именно наименованието на това така популярно ястие – шопската салата.

Ако пък се направи запитване сред българите, повечето биха определили шопската салата като традиционна българска рецепта, която техните баби и прабаби са приготвяли поколения наред. Дали обаче е така? Какво общо има с шопите тази шарена салата и дали наистина е толкова древна, колкото си мислим?

В настоящата кратка статия, смятам да проследя корените на иначе изконно българската „шопска салата“ и да проверя дали наистина ястието е толкова българско, колкото си мислим като проверя за аналози в кухните на съседните държави и разсъждавам върху въпроса защо една и съща рецепта се среща по целия Балкански полуостров в различни вариации. Накрая смятам да поразсъждавам върху флуидността на балканската кухня. За тази цел ще се позова както на личния си опит, така и на няколко статии писани по въпроса.

Надали има бременна жена, която да не се е чудила какво ще излезе от малкото човече в корема й. Дали ще прилича на нея или на баща си, ще бъде ли умно, или пък ще стане известен спортист...

Генетичната информация в човешкия организъм се носи от молекулата на ДНК – двойна спирала с полизахариден скелет и азотни бази (четири вида) групирани по двойки, които в комбинация от по три кодират съответния ген. Няма да навлизам в подробности, защото това не е лекция по биохимия.

Ако влезете в който и да е български дом, има много малък шанс да видите някоя антика или нещо със стойност за конкретното семейство – завещано от някой дядо или баба. Със сигурност обаче ще видите евтини сувенирчета от Китен, Приморско или друг черноморски курорт с масов характер или, ако живущите се смятат за по-модерни – от някой курорт в Гърция. Ако питате средностатистическия българин дали може да изброи пет паметника на културата, се обзалагам, че доста ще го затрудните. Какво ни казва всичко това?

Българите сме странни същества – плюем държавата, когато сме вътре в нея. Когато излезем някъде в чужбина обаче, веднага почва едно биене в гърдите – „Как бе, не сте чували за нас? Ами ние имаме...” и тук започваме да засрамваме Хилендарския Монах изброявайки необятните достойнства и неподозирано величие на своята иначе малка и световно неизвестна страна. Ако сме особено убедителни, вземе някой чужденец, излъже се, и дойде в нашата Татковина... и се сблъсква с горчивата истина. Обекти, които изглеждат по.зле след разкопките, отоколкото преди тях, музеи, в които ядосани лелки те гледат изпод вежди, редици прашлясали витрини с еднотипни „грънци и бардуци”, купчини предмети с разнородна форма и произход с едно-единствено описание: „неясен предмет с култово предназначение” – код за „не знам какво е това” – или витрина пълна с най-разнородни предмети, с едно обозначение – „гробни дарове”. Ще пропусна описанието на повечето ни археологически обекти, защото то е обект на друго изследване.

Ако питате някой жител на Виена или Рим, и те ще ви отговорят, че нямат време да обръщат толкова много внимание на невероятната архитектура около себе си. Въпреки това имаме сериозен проблем – Ларгото не получава заслуженото внимание нито от гостите на София, нито от жителите на града и това показва две неща – че „музеят на открито“ не се стопанисва както трябва и че няма достатъчна реклама на нашата история и на това иначе невероятно място. След като българите го подминават, как може да се очаква чужденците да му обърнат нужното внимание?
Темата на тази курсова работа е именно Ларгото на София и как то да стане по-посещавано и забелязвано от гражданите и гостите на столицата. И тъй като става дума за един вид музей на открито, в който вече са „изсипани“ милиони, популяризирането на място трябва да стане с минимум пари (колкото и богата да е Софийска община, дълбоко се съмнявам, че ще имат желание да дадат и стотинка повече).

Византийските императори показват, че могат да управляват общественото мнение поне в това отношение. Те се опират на изконната римска традиция за култа към императора и просто я прекрояват така, че да пасне на християнското настояще в империята. За тази цел те се представят за божи наместници на земята и преки изразители на волята Божия. По този начин божествения статус на императора, останал още от езическия период остава в сила, просто се сменя религията. Тази идеология е започната още от Константин Велики Императорите поддържат този свят имидж чрез събиране на реликви от всички краища на империята и систематичното им складиране в императорския дворец.

В този ред на мисли императорският дворец е не само средищен център на светската власт – като дом на императора и семейството му и на имперската администрация, но и най-святото място в империята поради огромното съсредоточаване на реликви и мощи. Чрез хитро манипулиране на общественото и частното пространство се постига ефекта, че половината град е част от двореца, прилежи към него или е символно свързан с него.

Терминът „култура” винаги е широко използван. Дотолкова, че вече е придобил твърде много различни значения и начини на употреба.

Няма човек, който да не се чуди какво се случва след като душата напусне този свят. Смъртта е едновременно най-обсъжданата и най-страшната тема. Защото неизвестното привлича човешкия ум, откакто свят светува, но от друга страна никой не се е върнал за да разкаже. Затова хората са едновременно любопитни и не толкова да разберат какво има Отвъд.

„Разстрел и след разстрела - червеи. /Това е толкоз просто и логично.“ - това е казал Вапцаров по повод собствената си (предизвестена) смърт. Обаче идеята за червеите не е никак атрактивна, а както знаем, няма религия, която да не говори за смъртта. Човешкият ум винаги се е чувствал привлечен от неизвестното. А какво по-неизвестно и интересно от мястото, за което получаваш еднопосочен билет веднъж в живота?

Language is closely connected to education; hence language variety is crucial when one has to tackle with educational issues. If more than one language variety is currently in use, then issues are bound to exist. Bilingualism exists in many countries across the globe.
In the following short article, I intend to examine the problems a bilingual situation poses for a speaker and observe the possible solutions for tackling diglossia.

L’article se propose de démontrer que la tendance littéraire québécoise francophone dite littératures métissées ou écritures migrantes peut être envisagée sous l’angle de la problématique de l’existentialisme français en littérature. En particulier, un des romans les plus connus rattachés à cette tendance, L’Ingratitude de l’écrivaine québécoise d’origine chinoise Ying Chen, se prête à une étude comparative avec l’œuvre d’Albert Camus et de Jean-Paul Sartre. Dans son roman précédent, Les lettres chinoises, Ying Chen établit un rapport intertextuel quasi-explicite avec Les lettres persanes. Dans L’Ingratitude, où le thème du suicide occupe une place centrale dans l’intrigue du récit, l’héroïne Yan-Zi va voir la pièce de Sartre Les Mains sales, qui se termine également par un suicide. En outre de cette référence explicite, le roman présente d’autres possibilités de comparaison avec Les Mains sales, mais aussi avec L’Etranger de Camus. Afin d’inscrire L’Ingratitude dans la logique existentialiste, l’étude démontrera que l’intrigue du roman part d’une situation absurde telle que définie par Camus dans Le Mythe de Sisyphe. Le mobile de l’action – la quête de la liberté – est une quête de liberté existentielle comparable à celle de Meursault dans L’Etranger, mais si Meursault est né libre et que sa lutte consiste à résister aux efforts que la société déploie pour convertir son existence en essence, Yan-Zi est née non libre, comme le sont sa mère, ses collègues, voire son père : ils sont nés prisonniers d’une essence. Autrement dit, dans L’ingratitude, l’essence précède l’existence. C’est dans le suicide que Yan-Zi se propose de trouver l’issue. Or, au-delà de cette résolution, le roman laisse percevoir que le vrai objectif de son suicide est d’éveiller l’amour maternel. Elle essaiera aussi d’atteindre l’amour d’un homme – Bi, et elle avoue que seul cet amour aurait pu la détourner de sa décision de se donner la mort. Ainsi, la révolte telle que définie par Camus à travers l’image du sourire de Sisyphe peut être réinterprétée à un autre niveau : refuser de se soumettre à l’exigence d’inhumanité imposée par la nature et par la société, aimer en dépit du caractère arbitraire de la condition humaine. L’étude explore le roman en détail (l’intrigue, les personnages et les rapports entre les personnages, les thèmes, le style et la portée philosophique de L’Ingratitude) en le juxtaposant systématiquement à L’Etranger et Les Mains Sales, à un niveau strictement littéraire, et à Le Mythe de Sisyphe, L’existentialisme est un humanisme et L’Etre et le néant sur le plan des idées.

Ce texte étudie les liens intertextuels entre L’Ingratitude – probablement, le roman le mieux connu de l’écrivaine canadienne d’origine chinoise et d’expression française Ying Chen – et la pièce Les Mains sales de Jean-Paul Sartre. Il se propose de trouver dans quelle mesure les deux textes communiquent entre eux et comment l’intertextualité contribue à l’esthétique du roman de Chen. L’étude offre une analyse structuraliste des deux textes aux niveaux des personnages et de l’intrigue. Elle conclut que les deux textes présentent de fortes similitudes aux deux niveaux et véhiculent des messages comparables. Cette comparaison se propose d’initier une nouvelle approche de l’œuvre de Chen et, plus généralement, du mouvement québécois dit écritures migrantes, qui pourrait désormais être appréhendé comme une forme de néo-existentialisme.

Roman à la fois historique et antihistorique, Made in Mauritius repense l’histoire de Maurice à travers l’histoire personnelle de quelques Mauriciens de la génération de l’Indépendance. Ainsi, il remet en question la véracité même de l’histoire et dénonce son caractère idéologique. A cette histoire « convenue », le texte oppose l’histoire personnelle et subjective des personnages principaux. La dénonciation du caractère échafaudé de l’histoire s’opère également à travers la déconstruction des images des identités nationales et ethniques qui se révèlent dès lors des représentations stéréotypées. La discrimination raciale et identitaire se joint aux préjugés socio-économiques pour former avec eux une seule catégorie de l’ethnoclasse, où la situation économique s’avère la matrice de tous les autres types d’exclusion. L’idéologie en tant que vision mensongère du monde est aussi dénoncée dans ses diverses formes : idéologie marxiste, capitaliste, nationaliste, etc. Poursuivant ses objectifs subversifs, le roman rеnverse les stéréotypes qui sont à l’origine d’une esthétique de l’exotique et qui continuent de dominer l’imaginaire occidental. Cet anti-exotisme trouve son expression dans une peinture dystopique de l’île et dans une esthétique du « bric-à-brac », c’est-à-dire une image hétéroclite du monde contemporain globalisé et commercialisé. Made in Mauritius réalise cette déconstruction des mythèmes idéologisés en opposant le paradigme du collectivisme à celui de l’intimité créatrice et nomade. Or, ce nomadisme n’érige pas l’émigration en solution salvatrice. Bien au contraire, les images de l’émigration et  de l’Occident sont rabaissées au même titre que celles des identités fixes au profit d’un dynamisme perpétuel. Les personnages de Sewtohul sont tout aussi bien des nomades que des sédentaires, jamais des êtres unilatéraux. Ce sont aussi des antihéros, ce qui augmente la valeur réaliste de la narration.

During this quick overview of Quebec’s immigration and pluralism policy as stated by the competent authorities, I managed to answer two basic questions that I find fundamental to any kind of study: what and how. The “what” corresponds to the need to know what cultural identity is. The “how” refers to the composition and the origin of the entity studied, as well as to the ways it interacts with external factors.
In this way, I observed that, for the documents under study, cultural identity is a mode of organizing the perception of the world. It is composed of values (ethical ingredients), knowledge (civilizational ingredients), institutions (political ingredients), and perceptions (psychological ingredients). Cultural identity concerns two levels: an individual and a group one. The manifestations of having a cultural identity can be found in collective life, family life, the artistic and intellectual creations, the spare-time activities, the public institutions, and the economic and professional relations.
The Québécois discourses convey two visions of identity that are, at least at first sight, contradictory: culture is both an innate property and a project; it results from history, but it can be modelled. We can thus distinguish between an initial identity (one that is inherited and stemming from the past) and a new identity (an acquired one). In the case of the Québécois identity, which for the immigrants is a new identity and which aims to encompass various initial identities, we could talk about a generic identity that should be built from heterogeneous elements through conscious cultivating efforts. As a result, cultural identity is a changing, non-definitive entity. Human beings have the ability to reinvent themselves culturally. They can also renounce any explicit identity belonging. From this perspective, cultural identity is not an innate attribute, but rather a variable subject to our conscious choices.
Cultural identity is also a vulnerable entity exposed to the danger of being deprived from its distinctive features and specificities, hence of perishing. I observed two factors that determine the resistance of a cultural identity, and namely the social cohesion and the political rights of its bearers.
The results obtained through this study should allow a comparison between the notion of cultural identity in the Québécois political discourses and other discourses, in order to draw conclusions as regards the plurality of the points of view in Quebec and Canada.

Le roman Les Lettres chinoises de Ying Chen est parmi les œuvres phares de la prose contemporaine provenant de l’immigration au Québec. Pour le courant dit écritures migrantes, le thème de l’identité a un rôle essentiel pour la structuration de l’univers romanesque. Cet article se propose d’étudier l’image littéraire de l’identité culturelle dans le roman. Cette étude s’inscrit dans le cadre plus vaste d’une étude juxtaposant les notions littéraire et politique de l’identité culturelle au Québec.

L’objet de la présente thèse de doctorat, qui s’inscrit dans une approche interdisciplinaire du fait littéraire, est le courant littéraire canadien (québécois) de langue française dit écritures migrantes. Le terme d’écritures migrantes circule intensément dans le champ littéraire québécois dès le milieu des années 1980, mais son sens exact est assez vague. Initialement appréhendées comme représentatives d’imaginaires étrangers que les écrivains migrants étaient censés partager, donc marquées par l’appartenance ethnoculturelle, les écritures migrantes, à travers les interventions publiques des écrivains et les idées véhiculées par les textes, renient leur caractère ethnoculturel et revendiquent leur nature métissée et cosmopolite. Ainsi, une lecture qui doit beaucoup à la pensée postmoderne ou aux idées d’Edouard Glissant, faisant l’éloge du mouvement, de la créolisation, du nomadisme, commence à s’opposer à l’approche ethnoculturelle ou topographique. Ces deux approches sont contradictoires et exclusives l’une de l’autre.
Cette situation est l’indice d’un malaise de réception, d’une confusion insurmontable qui appelle à une clarification. On peut remarquer que la notion d’identité culturelle, et plus spécialement celle d’appartenance culturelle, est d’une importance cruciale pour la réception du courant. L’auteur estime qu’il est nécessaire, afin de résoudre la contradiction, d’effectuer une analyse approfondie et systématique des structures narratives à l’œuvre dans le roman migrant et de catégoriser de manière précise les procédés esthétiques observables, afin de déterminer le rapport que le texte migrant entretient avec la notion d’appartenance culturelle, soit de répondre à la question si celle-ci occupe une place centrale dans son esthétique ou bien si, au contraire, elle est refoulée, minimisée ou récusée par le texte.
Pour réaliser cette ambition, l’auteur s’est posé comme premier objectif de déterminer le sentiment d’appartenance du personnage, son opinion ou son ressenti à l’égard des identités collectives respectives. Le deuxième objectif consiste à répondre à la question « Que se passe-t-il à la suite de la rupture du protagoniste avec son identité d’origine et son refus d’identification avec l’identité d’accueil ? ». Pour le réaliser, le chercheur étudie certains moments récurrents dans l’intrigue, de même qu’un chronotope particulier, il analyse les valeurs authentiques dans les romans, identifie l’influence considérable de l’existentialisme français, et procède à une analyse narratologique de la structure globale des textes.
Une fois ces deux objectifs réalisés, le texte est en mesure de postuler que le texte migrant s’engage dans un rapport d’antagonisme par rapport à la notion d’identité culturelle, ce qui constitue notamment l’hypothèse de départ de ce travail de recherche. En outre, grâce à l’analyse préalable de plusieurs énoncés de politique du Gouvernement du Québec, le chercheur est en mesure de constater que les romans étudiés instaurent une polémique implicite avec les discours politiques, lesquels mettent en avant une représentation très culturaliste et communautariste de l’immigrant et de la vie sociale.
Le corpus d’étude se limite au genre romanesque. Il est composé de onze romans, et notamment : Tourmente d’Aline Apostolska, Sans retour/Невъзвращенка de Sonia Anguelova, Comment faire l’amour avec un nègre sans se fatiguer et Chronique de la dérive douce de Dany Laferrière, Le Fou d’Omar et Le Sourire de la petite juive d’Abla Farhoud, Le Pavillon des miroirs et La Gare de Sergio Kokis, Les Lettres chinoises et L’ingratitude de Ying Chen et Le Figuier enchanté de Marco Micone.
Les résultats obtenus contestent fortement l’approche ethnoculturelle et effectuent une sorte de synthèse des approches topologique et réaliste identifiées par Simon Harel, notamment en insistant sur les figures du mouvement et du nomadisme tout en concrétisant son immersion dans des réalités sociales concrètes et en cernant avec précision les lieux de la reterritorialisation. Le héros migrant opte pour l’identité nomade non pas pour répondre à un goût inspiré de la doxa postmoderne, mais bien pour résoudre la situation sociale problématique dans laquelle il se trouve (sa situation de dépendance, de non-autonomie) tout en articulant sa position épistémologique, réaffirmant ainsi la vérité comme valeur suprême.
